INSPECTION Services

Inspection services offered by MPDA to specification authorities and owners are based on standards set out in the MPI Architectural Painting Specification Manual. 

MPDA inspections include:

• On-site inspection services
• Inspection of substrates to ensure adequate surface preparation
• Temperature, moisture, and humidity tests to ensure conditions are appropriate
• Assurance that products used are MPI approved products
• Evaluation of workmanship to ensure compliance with MPI standards
• Inspection reports
• Final sign off

Upon successful completion of the project, if eligible, a 2-year maintenance bond for labour and materials should be issued by the painting contractor. Only MPDA member contractors are guaranteed by the association for a two year period. The cost per inspection is 5% of the painting contact price.
